{ X100S [x] OakleyAP } | A.Match.Made.In.Heaven.

Ever since the man in the Brown Uniform (read: UPS) delivered my X100S from Amazon, I have been searching for the right perfect bag to place my little-beautiful-beast-of-a-camera in. The trouble is, there are many camera bags out there that can do the job, but I wanted something that is as unique and special as my X100S. And to make it a little tougher for a match, I wanted to make sure that the bag holds the camera with the front lens hood attached.

Now, I've been a long-time fan of the Oakley brand, and I currently house my X-Pro1 along with my XF- lenses (namely the 35mm, 14mm, and the 60mm) inside a modified Oakley "day-bag." Yet often times, I don't want to carry the whole X-system and prefer to just hang out with my X100S.  So naturally... when I started my quest, I went on hunting on the internet for a similar bag. Then I realized, I've already got the bag suitable to house the X100S on a daily basis...and it just so happens that it is an Oakley creation as well.

The "bag" is actually a modified Oakley AP Holster.

Here are some images of the modified unit. The awesome part is that true to its ingenious name - adaptable payload - I was able to reconfigure the holster in such a way that it becomes a mini bag. Here are some images of the product alongside the sexy S. B-)

The two is just a match made in heaven. I couldn't believe how the X100S with the lens hood attached fits so perfectly in this bag.  And although the original Oakley configuration is not anything like how I ended up using it, the Oakley designers did a great job in making it so configurable that it still flows really well aesthetically.

The main compartment is home for the little black-silver beast.  As mentioned, the camera with lens hood attached fits right in. And because the inner of the bag is lined with the softer material, I don't have to worry about scratches. The front pouch could house my iPhone, keys, or often times...I leave the WCL-X100 wide angle adapter in there for those "oh-snap-I-need-a-wider-angle" moments.  Note also the shoulder strap on the upper right hand corner of the image - I basically just snagged the shoulder strap that came with my laptop bag.

They don't make them like they used to...this is also true of many of the Oakley products.  The Adaptable Payload (AP) line was unique in that it used these "D-rings" that became signatory and synonymous to this particular line.  I love how the red-stitch accent is nicely coordinated to the Gariz half-case that the X100S is sporting.

Note how the O-logo is etched onto the D-rings.  It is this type of attention to details that used to set the Oakley products from all others.  That...and the crazy-artistic-O-matter-induced engineers that dreamed them up, and dared to create them. ;-)

I love the black/red accent on both the half-case and the Oakley AP Holster.  A true perfect match!
