Mr. Smiley from Amazon decided to surprise me early as I got my brown package earlier than expected. The S came in a couple of days back. I had to sell a couple of organs to fund for this one...well, not really ;-) ...just some old gears and a couple of gigs to make way for this one. Frankly, after reading Zack Arias review of this X-Cam, I have never been more excited to get something delivered than the time I had to wait for my X100. If you haven't read Zack's review blog post, you should. It's the most creative and entertaining gear review I have read in a long while. Check it out here.

It was a bit chilly and cloudy out the other night, but one thing that I've been dying to test on the X100S is how well the new auto focus engine works "in the dark." Here are some SOOC JPEGs of the first few frames from the X100S on this moonlit night in the south SF Bay.

The verdict...Fuji did it! It's almost - dare I say - as fast as my D3's performance in low light.

Not once did it hunt.
