{ Of Dusk And Men } | The.Magic.Of.Spring.Afternoon.Light.
The Golden Hour. Or maybe I should say the Golden Hours - as in plural - since there are usually two incidences on which this term could refer to at any given day - at the beginning and at the end.
"The first and last hour of sunlight during the day..." - that is how Wikipedia explains it. No doubt throughout the history of photography and cinematography, it is one of the most revered times of the day for capturing images.
Hue gets warmer.
Shadows are longer.
And light becomes softer.
Since I am more of a night owl than an early bird, I tend to catch more of the "gold" during the latter hours of the day...when the Sun goes out to the horizon to say so long and catch some rest from this side of the globe. And the best part being in this part of the world, the "golden hour" does seem to be a bit later into the evening, when one can truly enjoy it from the comfort of home.
Here are a few snaps from that very magical hour that I took with the X-Pro1.
Happy shooting!
