You know how sometimes certain things in this life just resonate well with you?

Maybe it's a person. Maybe it's a product. Maybe it's a pet. Or maybe, it's just a set of images...a body of work from some artist whom you have never met before.  Well, I've been an admirer of  Patrick LaRoque's work for quite some time now. There is something about his work that is just authentic. Raw. You know...real. And he is a pretty darn great writer to boot.

I was very pleased that he was finally asked to be an official X-photographer by Fujifilm Canada recently - a well-deserved recognition.  Patrick is quite fond of Visual Supply Company - VSCO, for short - and their digital film emulation presets. Now, I'm not a fan of presets per se...but Patrick is really enthused about VSCO, so like a good-distant-virtual-grasshopper-a.k.a-student that I am, I decided to give it a shot.  And Patrick is right, it's quite an addicting "shiny thing" and the presets can certainly be used as a "starting point" of a creative adventure.

So here are a few iterations of my favorite X-Pro1 image of all time, processed through the different Fuji preset film-emulations, namely:  Superia, 160c, and PX70.

Go ahead, try them out for yourself. B-)

VSCO has just also recently released Fujifilm profiles for the 3 packs - available for Lightroom 4 or Camera Raw.  You can get them here.

Cheers from the Bay!
